Medical Navigation System

The plan is to develop a medical navigation system to provide visual information about a tool location with respect to another object, especially establishing a tool target in both position and orientation. The picture on the right is a screenshot of our navigation program.

A low-cost built-fast 4-DOF joystick can demonstrate the functionality of our navigation software. The joystick has two translational DOFs, and two rotational DOFs. The joystick use variable resistors to track the movement. The analog signals are acquired and send to the display program via serial port.

This 4-DOF tracker including the graphic user interface is done by Phana Punyaprasiddhi in 2006.

Check out the demo video of the 4-DOF Tracker.
